We are delighted to share the news that we are now creating our own organic herbal teas. At Wayside Herbal Teas we blend for flavour – we use the tastiest parts of organic herbs and spices to make our teas taste as delicious as we can. We make artisan small-batch herbal blends, drawing on only the finest organic herbs and experience of working with natural ingredients. Our range changes regularly to reflect passing seasons and changing moods.
Wayside herbal blends are not like the mass-produced teabags you buy in shops. Loose-leaf blends need a teapot, a tea cosy, and a bit of time – the tea might look hazy, the herbs might not look pretty – but we started this company because we believe that the taste and nutritious aspects of the herbs and spices are more important. We think you’ll agree after your very first sip.
Our teas
Find harmony with the herbs in Santa Baby. Red clover and sage are used traditionally to balance hormones to support women’s health, but this is a tea everyone can enjoy.
Use a pot and cosy and steep for 10 minutes to gain a deep red colour and allow the fragrances of the herbs to develop.

How to brew the best cuppa?
Your Nan knew best! Warm a tea pot and use a cosy.
Our teas are designed to be brewed in a pot. This is because tea bags placed in a mug cool down rapidly and don’t extract all the nourishment from the herbs. With our teas you can top up with more water for extra delicious cups. There are about 40 servings per tin.
Here’s how I do it.
- Use 1 teaspoon of herbs per person for a medium size mug (250 mls water).
- Warm the pot.
- Steep the herbs in boiling water (to kill any bugs).
- Snuggle in a cosy and brew for at least 10 minutes.
- Pour using a fine-mesh strainer.
- Top up with more water for a second or third cup.
Looking after the planet
We use the highest quality herbs which are from a reputable supplier and are certified as organic. Most are grown in Europe with the exception of the spicy-boys like ginger and turmeric which are from Asia. Using a pot and cosy keeps the water hot and is more energy efficient. Loose tea provides you with minimal packaging and processing steps…no tea bags or bits of string. The left over leaves can go on your home compost or in your food waste bin. The interior bag is a patented plant-based plastic that is compostable. In my own tests the bag had totally gone in two months. The tin is reusable and purchased from a UK B Corp company. If you live locally, you can return your tins to us, or use to store things in.
Looking after you!
Herbal teas have been used for centuries at social occasions and as medicines. Herbal teas are a quick and simple way to support our daily health and wellbeing.
Wayside teas can help you from sunrise to sunset. We have blended each with your wellbeing in mind, so teas may contain families of herbs like mint (refreshing, pick-me-up and also soothing for the tummy), or pine and rosemary (similar compounds to green tea creating a boosting morning drink). Many of the herbs are also well-researched. I’d be more than happy to share information on them. My background is in herbal scientific research.
There is a full website coming soon where you can purchase our teas, and they will be available locally in Dursley (The Oak at Kingshill, Dursley Christmas Lights, Slimbridge Christmas Fair, and other venues to be announced). Meanwhile email me for enquiries! We are a registered food business with all the necessary documentation in place.
